Description | The EAA Reservoir is a major component of the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP), designed to store over 78 billion gallons of water and deliver up to 470 billion gallons of treated water annually to the Everglades and Florida Bay. It also supports the Biscayne Aquifer, which supplies drinking water to much of South Florida. Florida has been authorized to construct several major components of the reservoir system, including inflow and outflow pump stations, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will oversee construction of the reservoir basin. The project completion timeline has been accelerated from 2034 to 2029. |
