Description

Description

The Ex of In House is a residential project located on twenty-eight acres of forested rock outcropping in Rhinebeck, USA. It explores a language of space aimed at inner spatial energy strongly bound to the ecology of the place. The house is a compressed form of 918 square feet, designed as an alternative to modernist suburban houses that sprawl in the landscape. It features spherical spaces intersecting with tesseract trapezoids, geothermal heating, solar electricity with photovoltaic cells connected to a battery storage system, and uses locally sourced glass and wood. The house was built almost entirely from raw materials by the builders, with natural oiled wood and plywood interior finishes.
