Exoplanet-Ecology – Alpes’ sky and stars, immaterial legacy of Europe.

Located on both sides of the Alpes, Saint-Barthélémy and Saint-Michel l’Observatoire share a similar contact from a geologic, archeologic and historic point of view. In a territory, traditionally rural, the both places have an astronomic pole, of a strong potential of attractivity on the cultural tourism field, associated to the research and diffusion of knowledges. Both places have as common point to work on the same thematic, the research of exoplanets, which means planets outside of the solar system. Both centres use complementary technics and each of them has known scientific success: the discovery to the first exoplanet, 51 Pegasi b in 1995 for the Saint Michel Observatory, and the research of an exoplanet with a robotic telescope, unique in Europe, for Saint-Barthélemy Observatory. The synergie between both centre would be illustrated by a permanent exposition A la recherche de nouveaux mondes at Saint Barthélémy, on the thematic of exoplanets and of the research of Life within the Universe. Weak phenomena on the past, the number of tourist in research of places to admire the sky is constantly growing. Astronomy has shown its attractivity toward the public during these last years, thanks to few light pollution on each sites, allowing to be integrated in a more global offer of cultural tourism promoting local resources.
