Description
Description | "Expanding Let’s Read Together in the Libraries is a continuation of a project financed by Creative Europe (no.101100590), which will end on 31 December 2025. The original project aims to help children and their parents transform young listeners into independent readers. We especially want to encourage men to read - fathers, uncles, brothers, trainers, to ensure children have this role model. Through our joint actions and excellent cooperation with the FPC (Universal Reading Foundation), the project has achieved much in its first 2 years. We have achieved recognition far beyond our original ambitions: in 2024, the #ReadingDad campaign had over 100 million views. We have developed a high-quality brochure giving parents knowledge and practical advice on how to start reading to children. We have a managed list of recommended books to read to children. And we have the active support of the Universal Reading Foundation and over 70 industry participants. In short, we have momentum. This project aims to build on this momentum, ensuring continuity and visibility of the #ReadingDad brand in the years 2026-2028, expanding its scope with additional titles, broadening its reach in libraries, and continuing to bring in industry participants. Our consortium of 3 publishers (Tatarak, Wytwórnia and Widnokrąg) will publish 21 translated European literary works, promoting their circulation through attractive, multi-channel communication, and expanding the #ReadingDad program to promote both these specific works and overall joint parent-child reading activities. We also will support libraries across Poland by organizing 36 workshops for librarians on how they can encourage men to read to their children, including the necessary materials and know-how. Ultimately, we will reach over a 1000 libraries over the three years of the project. Close cooperation within the consortium and further cooperation with the Universal Reading Foundation will allow us to achieve this ambitious goal." |
