Description

Description

x-CITE will advance the development of the CitiVerse as a tool for human-centric smart city transformation. x-CITE expand the experience and engagement of citizens through XR in the areas of urban planning, social engagement, culture and tourism. The project contributes to Digital Europe objectives, accelerating valuable embedding of AI in the urban domain and contributing to wide usage of XR and metaverse technologies across the EU. The quadruple helix approach involves citizens, government, industry and academia in co-creating and sustaining development of urban solutions. The project enhances citizen participation, fosters inclusivity and creates a new urban paradigm integrating physical and virtual realms. It also seeks to shape a common framework for European authorities, emphasizing inclusive, ethical and interoperable adoption of virtual technologies in supporting decision- making. The project results in recommendations for a federated architecture that enhances the CitiVerse capabilities. Through engagement with industry and smart city networks, the project contributes to the EU CitiVerse leadership, ensuring open, interoperable and ethical solutions. The project will develop guidelines for user-centric solutions in the CitiVerse. The partnership involves leading smart cities, technology providers and knowledge institutions from Finland, Netherlands and Belgium, with use cases in Tampere, Rotterdam and Flanders. The project provides a set of CitiVerse open solutions compatible with MIM Plus, building on the DS4SSCC blueprint and the LDT Toolbox and a roadmap outlining action points for maturity, sustainability and market readiness of CitiVerse solutions, emphasizing performance optimization, interoperability enhancements and privacy and security assurance. The project aligns with EU climate and smart cities and communities initiatives, fostering innovation and supporting a green, citizen-centric urban future.
