Description | The strategic intent of UMCIL is to meet the demand for structural steel in Zambia in the next 10 years while at the same time produce intermediate steel products that can be used by a steel - based manufacturing sector to make final consumer appliance and agricultural tools. With the right equity partner UMCIL will have access to much needed financing to increase production capacity by acquiring a new Direct Reduction Iron (DRI) plant which will increase existing production capacity from 96,000 tonnes to 240,000 tonnes per annum. Therefore, implementing the necessary upgrade to the rolling mills to double output and meet ever-growing demand. |
