Information AMNS India has come up with Expansion of Integrated Steel Plant of ArcelorMittal NipponSteel India Limited from 9.6 to 15.6 million tons per annum Liquid Steel at Hazira in Surat district, Gujarat with a ticket size of 35145 INR Crores. This project in Manufacturing sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Not Applicable Economic/Social Impact of the Project AMNSI proposes to undergo a brownfield expansion for production of liquid steel from 9.6 to 15.6 MTPA and 6.0 MTPA hot rolled coils within the existing steel plant of AMNSI. The major production facilities envisaged for the project will comprise of by product recovery-based coke ovens, blast furnace, steel melt shop [BOF], slab caster and hot rolling mills. The plant will have its captive power plant which will utilize surplus by-product fuel gas, and steam from CDQ and TRT to produce power. The plant will also have its lime calcining plant. Sinter plant and air separation plant for producing oxygen, nitrogen and argon required by various units shall be available from existing facilities already installed or under implementation. The project is expected to generate employment for 7000 people [1750 Direct and 5250 Indirect]. It is well understood that approximately additional 35000 people will be positively impacted by the project.
