Expansion of Oslo Airport Bar and Interior Concept Design

ongoing

Snøhetta has designed a unique bar and interior concept for the expansion of Oslo Airport. The design draws inspiration from the Norgesglasset jar, a classic Norwegian product used for pickling and storing food. Over 4000 original Norgesglasset jars were re-used to clad the ceiling and back wall of the 65m2 bar, creating whimsical variations in light and shadow. The design includes a swirling grand chandelier made of Norgesglasset jars, a long couch with bright red cushions, and a circular bar referencing the jar's aluminum ring. The interior concept also extends to employee uniforms and menu cards.
