Description | The project involves expanding the troubled Parc Prison in Bridgend, Wales, to accommodate an additional 345 inmates and employ 160 more staff. The expansion includes demolishing and repositioning existing structures to build a K-shaped house block, a new gym/multifaith building, an industries/education building, a new access road to the north, and a new car park to the east. The project is currently in the pre-planning phase with pre-application approval granted in September 2024. The construction company Galliford Try Construction Limited is behind the development and plans to submit a full planning application in July 2025. |
