Expansion of Soybean Processing Capacity

Bunge North America is planning to expand soybean processing capacity at its plants in Cairo, Ill. and Destrehan, La. The project scope includes construction of building space and equipment foundations; purchase and erection of structural steel and storage tanks; and purchase and installation of handling, processing and packaging equipment. The expansion will increase processing capacity at each plant from 7,000 tons of soybeans per day to 14,000 tons per day to produce oil for use as renewable feedstock for diesel and jet fuel. The project will be a joint venture between Chevron Corporation and Bunge North America.
