Expansion of Water and Sanitation Services in South Africa

ongoing

This project involves the expansion of basic water and sanitation services across South Africa, driven by the constitutional mandate to provide access to sufficient water and sanitation as a fundamental right. Since 1994, access to clean water has increased from about 55% to roughly 92-95% of the population, with significant improvements in sanitation services. The project includes infrastructure investments, governance strengthening, and targeted programs for underserved communities to ensure reliable and safe water and sanitation services.
