Expansion project for Edible oil extraction project

HAMARESSA EDIBLE OIL PROCESSING S.C was established in 1998 by domestic investors for the production of edible oil from oilseeds, is located in the historic town of Harar. It made a great contribution in edible oil production import-substitution in the country, particularly produced from sunflower seed, groundnut, Linseed, Niger seed, cottonseed, and soybean oilseed. The proposed new project will comprise of additional refinery for crude palm oil extraction, for which the company has acquired 1000Ha of land from the government for cultivation of oil seeds. The total investment cost of the project is estimated at $USD 5.5 million. The company aims to introduce advanced edible oil production technology and oilseed farming through international partnerships and collaborative research works. The local investor is looking for an international partner, who could join hands and bring in capital in terms of equity.
