This project establishes an innovative network of advice and expertise to help journalists and media organisations produce more accurate cross-border reporting in the public interest and develop stronger business models. By bringing together leading academics, industry professionals, and subject matter experts with local, regional, national, and investigative journalists, the initiative fosters multidisciplinary collaboration to achieve journalistic excellence. Through expert review and comprehensive linguistic checks, articles will meet high standards of reliability and impact. This scientific and methodical approach enhances investigative journalism and helps media better inform the public. The project prioritises resilience, pluralism, and editorial independence to strengthen vital media sectors such as community media and investigative outlets. Experts will work directly with media professionals to address challenges such as external pressures and resource constraints. They will also identify content gaps to ensure that quality, pluralistic information reaches underserved areas. By empowering journalists, the initiative fosters accountability and trust in public interest journalism. To promote cooperation and innovation, the project will provide targeted grants for cross-border investigative journalism, encouraging multidisciplinary and international partnerships. By building knowledge repositories on media needs and challenges, it contributes to a diverse and resilient media ecosystem. By combining expert support with journalistic collaboration, the initiative enhances reporting quality and strengthens media business structures.The project includes: (a) a programme of grants, expert support, and project advice for European cross-border investigative journalism; (b) training for local media managers in project management, storytelling, editing, and budgeting; and (c) wide dissemination of the stories supported and shared knowledge through a scholarship programme
