Description

Description

The project is part of the Global Project which aims to build a total of 121 parking places to the requirements of the gold level of the EU-Parking Standard. It will, thus, contribute to optimising and improving the security of the western and southern Romanian road transport infrastructure along the Rhine–Danube CNC. This project, SSPA Caspy 2.0 is phase 2 of the Global Project, and will expand the current SSPA on two sides of the existing plot. The south-side expansion will consist of 26 places (5000 m2) while the west-side expansion will consist of 25 places (3500 m2). Due to higher-than-expected demand, the existing area of 70 Gold-level places (phase 1) has reached capacity after one year of operation, proving the necessity for the planned expansion. The project lies on the E60 in Strejnicu, west of Ploiesti near Bucharest, Romania, and on the point where the Rhine – Danube corridor crosses the Baltic Sea – Black Sea – Aegean Sea Corridor (which follows the A3 and the E577). In the long run, the project will contribute to improving and further increasing the security of the Romanian transport infrastructure by developing a safe and secure parking area, in which HGVs will have access to adequate parking spaces combined with service facilities. Further project’s benefits include decrease in accidents, noise pollution, and time savings.
