Extension to Athens’ National Archaeological Museum PPP project in Greece

project awarded

The project involves the design competition for a 20,000 sq m extension to Athens’ National Archaeological Museum, which houses prehistoric and ancient art. The new plinth of the existing building will be extended to the street, which will give the historical monument a new look, as well as add two floors of underground galleries. The construction of the extension provides approximately 20,000 sq m of additional space and a large green rooftop park. The extension will include the museum's ticket office, shop, restaurant, auditorium, and permanent and temporary exhibition space.
