EYE on Europe 2021 is proposed by 9 international partners to enhance entrepreneurship and competitiveness of EU SMEs and to foster startups and newly established SMEs. In the next 3 years the Consortium will provide on-the-job training for at least 330 new entrepreneurs and start-up founders. Additionally it will recruit a minimum of 330 experienced host entrepreneurs, who will be owners of small and medium-sized enterprises or more established start-ups in other participating countries. The overall goal is to carry out 550 successful relationships. The EP relies on previous experiences (EYE on Europe I – III and 2021 (SGA1)) and will pay special attention to target group focused promotion, efficient assessment of qualified entrepreneurs, highly individualized matching to create a win-win situation for NEs and HEs and regular support throughout the exchange. The EP sets its focus on high-tech & early stage entrepreneurs since it believes that these draw the greatest benefit from EYE. The impact of its activities will be measured through surveys to NEs and HEs. 7 partners (DE, GR, IT, LT, PL, PT, ES) have been part of the first SGA period having achieved 100% of their goals after 20 months of the project duration. Two new partners (NL, DK) were thoroughly selected and will be on boarded with the support of all partners. Each partner plays a leading role in their countries’ university-industry entrepreneurship eco-systems and supports innovative business creation focused on high-tech and research-intensive business sectors, such as MedTech, CleanTech, ICT and Life Sciences. Fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in their region, this builds the perfect ecosystem to recruit EYE entrepreneurs. To ensure sustainability, this EP will support NEs and HEs with after-care services such as information on available accelerator programmes, EU-grants or financing opportunities and open its EP’s network to them.
