FAA Air Taxi Pilot Program

A pilot program initiated by the Trump administration to allow companies to test limited operations of electric and hybrid air taxis before formal certification by the Federal Aviation Administration. The program aims to accelerate the use of next-generation aircraft, including piloted or unmanned flights carrying cargo or passengers. It will select at least five pilot projects involving state, local, tribal, and territorial governments working with private companies, with a focus on safety and multiple use cases. The program duration is three years from the start of the first project.
