Facility Expansion

The project consists of the expansion of the current transit operations facility to accommodate recent growth and future expansion. The project will increase maintenance and bus storage capacity, expand parking for the growing workforce as well as increase office space to allow for the building to be a regional transit headquarters, as transit operations in the Niagara Region become fully-integrated. The additional office spaces will be used for operational support such as operational dispatch, a customer call centre, scheduler/planner of service delivery as well as training. Specifically, the expansion includes 2,868 square meters of bus storage area, 856 square meters of maintenance bay additions (maintenance and repair shop), 2 additional hoists, 53 additional parking spaces and 9 additional office spaces for operational support.
