The Facing Facts Network is a multi-stakeholder initiative that works to strengthen hate crime (HC) and hate speech (HS) response systems across Europe, ensuring increased access to justice, safety, and support for victims and affected communities targeted by all forms of discrimination. With more than 30 members from 19 countries, the Network facilitates collaboration between civil society organisations, public authorities, law enforcement, equality bodies and relevant actors in the HS and HC response systems. Through cutting-edge, evidence-based learning, policy engagement, and research, the Network promotes trust-building, enhances coordination, and ensures meaningful contributions from different stakeholders at national and European levels. In 2026, the Network will continue focusing on empowering change agents by equipping practitioners with transformative online learning opportunities, facilitating multi-stakeholder cooperation, and advocating for the harmonisation of policies and frameworks such as the Digital Services Act and the EU Anti-Racism Action Plan. By embedding victim-centered and intersectional perspectives into all activities, Facing Facts will contribute to sustainable, outcome-focused improvements in hate crime and hate speech responses, reinforcing EU efforts to combat hatred and uphold fundamental rights.
