Description

Description

The objective is to develop our feature length documentary “Fake-news: poison of Europe” as an international co-production. In our film we want to look for solutions to tackle the problem of wide spread misinformation in Europe. To make our project stronger and adapted to the transnational character of misinformation, we are three companies: Zebra Production (France), who has worked for years on formats against misinformation for teenagers, Sagafilms (Germany) who has worked on the problem of fake news around the coronavirus and Oreé Films (Estonia) a company based in a country with a Russian speaking minority under influence of Russian propaganda. The planned activities are: The author Susanna Dorhage (France) and the co-author Alexander Harbi (Germany) as well as our main researcher Paul Rebane (Estonia) will conduct journalistic investigations in France, Germany, Estonia as well as other countries. Casting the main director. Filming and editing of a trailer. Writing and adapting the script. Research for graphical elements and archives. Establishing the budget and the financing plan. Creating social media accounts for the film. Starting the financing process by attending MIP, Sunnyside of the Doc, IDFA and CPHDox. Types and numbers of persons benefiting from the project: the beneficiaries are the three production companies Zebra Production, Sagamedia and Oreé Films. We will be working with the staff of the three companies (app. 12), but also with freelancers (e.g. the director and the research coordinator) and local researchers (app.8). Expected results and type and number of outputs: We have defined the following main deliverables: casting of the director, forming of the local creative teams, update of the treatment and final treatment, filming and editing of the trailer, financing plan and production budget.
