Description
Description | The aim of the project is to develop and validate calibration equations for the measurement of carbon, nitrogen and risk elements in soil using NIRS (Nahinfrared Spectroscopy) techniques in the Czech Republic and Eastern Bavaria. The use of NIRS technology can be an alternative to the methods already used to determine carbon, nitrogen and risk elements in soil samples in the laboratory. The project is carried out in 4 activities: (1) inventory of data and soil samples (sample archive) from previous studies and studies; (2) Measurement of archive soil samples using NIRS; (3) Development of calibration equations for predicting soil quality parameters (carbon/C/, nitrogen/N/, risk factors/As — arsenic, Pb — lead, Ni — nickel, Zn — zinc, Cr — chromium) and sampling of new soil samples (approximately 100 pcs) for the subsequent validation of the developed calibration equations (determination of C, N and risk elements according to classical laboratory methods); (4) Overall evaluation of the collected data (evaluation, verification and validation of data by NIRS technology and laboratory procedures) and preparation of publication results. The project results will be: (1) the methodology for the determination of C, N and risk elements by NIRS; (2) an article in a reviewed journal; (3) reviewed monograph; (4) Workshop; (5) Information sheet. The results of the project will enable the reliable use of NIRS techniques to detect the C, N and loads of heavy metals in soils on a multiple scale, compared to the possibilities of current processes. The project will provide data on the occurrence of risk elements and the state of the soil in the area of interest for decision-making by state administrations. The joint implementation team will prepare the project methodology, take the necessary soil samples, evaluate the results achieved, publish the main results, and jointly organise the final workshop. Project of the partners CZ (Research Institute for Plant Production) and BY (Bavarian State Office for the Environment) Fast and precise determination of the carbon content, Nitrogen and pollutant in soil mitttel’s NIRS technology falls under focus 2 — Increase and restore biodiversity and ecosystem services because it is a specific target in the soil protection area. Soil protection is a key to restoring and stabilising biodiversity and cross-border ecosystem services.
