Fauji Foundation was planning the development a 50MW Wind Farms, Sindh Province. A subsidiary of Fauji Foundation, Fauji Fertilizer Company, closed an equipment supply contract with Nordex for another 50MW wind farm in 2010. The equipment supply contract was awarded to Nordex, from Germany, in October 2011. Nordex would supply two times 20 turbines of the type N100/2500, of 2.5MW each. The project was to be completed by 2013. The EPC contract was awarded to Korea Southern Power Company (KOSPO). Total project cost was estimated at $220 million. In June 2012, it was reported that the project was financed by the company in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank, under Islamic financing principles. The debt had a tenor of 12 years. The project reached financing together with a second wind farm. Total project cost for both plants was US$133 million. A consortium of local banks also participated: National Bank of Pakistan, Faysal Bank, United Bank Limited, Allied Bank, and Meezan Bank.
