Description

The EAIF is a facility of the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), a donor platform founded by the UK in 2002 to promote private infrastructure financing. PIDG and its eight facilities are on the OECD DAC list of ODA-eligible recipients. The Federal Financial Supervisory Authority has been providing financing for the EAIF since 2006 (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority loan). To date, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority has granted a total of USD 205 million in Federal Financial Supervisory Authority loans to the EAIF. In addition, the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority is involved in financing other PIDG facilities. Specifically, these are the Infrastructure Crisis Facility Debt Pool (Federal Government's USD 11 million trust participation, EUR 500 million development loan with GWR) and GuarantCo (Federal Financial Supervisory Authority's USD 100 million counter-guarantee without GWR).
