The location of the project, the municipality of Velké Ulany, is situated in the agglomeration of Bratislava-Trnava and that way the demand for new flats is constantly growing. The urbanisation processes roll back the natural watershed, the fauna and flora are gradually destructing. The rain-water floods the cellars of the houses and gets stuck on the streets. In the case of the lead partner in the years of 2007-2008, 80% of the compaints of the population were connected with the rain-water. The examination of the samples of water at the lead partner detected pollution of nitrate and english red while at the cross-board partner nitrate and arsenium pollution. The project is searching remedies for the following problems: - Because of the disfunction of the natural catchment area of the water-course of Erecs, the vehicles contaminate the rain-water and decrease the feeling of safety of the population. - The fauna and flora situated in the green belt of the direct environment of the water-course is also threatened by the stagnant water of very bad quality caused by waste, alluvion and paddle. There are frequent cases of small illegal rubbish dupms and also drainage emission in the damaged area. - In the territory of the village there are few natural green areas for ralaxation, there is a lack of direct contact with the nature, the population is not aware of the natural values of the area. - The low environmental self-awareness of the adult population (chemically fertilized gardens, mixing dangarous waste with other rubbish, etc.) leads to the fact that the children do not acquire environmental-conscious behaviour. - The lack of experince of the concrete reason-cause coherency and of demonstration of the measurement of the pollution diminish the credit of the environmental education. - The failures arising from isolated, only locally done environmental activities can easily lead to doubiousness of the participants.
