Description
Description | Female Street Art Incubator is a transnational project aimed at fostering international cooperation, capacity building, and cultural co-production in the field of female street art. The project begins with a capacity-building workshop for partner organisations to enhance their institutional practices and co-create a shared methodology. Following this, the four partner organisations — Obojena klapa (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Dani urbane kulture (Serbia), Graffiti na Gradele (Croatia), and Alte Feuerwache Mannheim gGmbH (Germany) — will jointly develop a comprehensive Female Street Artist Empowerment Strategy. This strategy will focus on developing tools and approaches to address gender inequality in the European street art scene. The strategy will be piloted through a five-day educational residency — the Female Street Art Incubator Camp — which will gather ten emerging artists selected via an international open call. The camp will provide mentorship, peer learning, hands-on training, and professional development opportunities. Each participant will also develop a mural proposal, serving as their entry for the Female Rising Star Award — a fully funded opportunity supporting artistic production and cross-border mobility. A professional jury will select four finalists, whose murals will be produced in public spaces across the partner countries. Each finalist will realize their work outside their home country, encouraging transnational artistic exchange and visibility. Through its open call, incubator camp, and large-scale mural production, the project will establish a vibrant platform for artistic empowerment, visibility, and professional growth of female street artists. In doing so, it directly contributes to greater gender equality and long-term systemic change in the European street art scene. |
