The renovation cost about $400,000. Despite the renovation and regular inspections, the roof partially collapsed on May 19, 2025, with hundreds of tiles falling and causing a plume of dust. The collapsed roof section was a replica, not part of the original structure. The government is investigating the cause, including a rare temperature drop on the day of the collapse and ignored inspection warnings about cracks on the roof. |
