Fern is unique, focussed on the impact of EU policies on forests. We are non-hierarchical, have no director and make decisions by consensus. Our team of 20 have offices in strategic EU locations (BE, NL, FR) and we have a 30-year track record of working with EU stakeholders. We facilitate the Forest Movement Europe and other NGO networks to find constructive solutions and agree civil society strategies to inform EU policies for the benefit of forests. This work also gives us a good understanding of what is happening on the ground across the EU and increases our sphere of influence beyond our office locations. Over the next two years, our priorities are consolidating advances the European Green Deal brought to forests, climate and biodiversity.
