Description	This project involves the improvement and modernization of the Fernandopolis biofuel plant, located in Sao Paulo state, Brazil. The sponsor for this initiative is the Brazilian sugar-energy company Alcoeste. The sponsor has set emission reduction target of 13% reaching 3.4 million tons of carbon avoided per year. The aim of this project is to enhance the efficiency improvements and the certification of production processes of the biofuel plant. The total project cost is $7.7m (R$40m) provided with a loan from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). The credit is part of the BNDES RenovaBio line aligned with ESG criteria.
