Description | The Fertinagro Nutrigenia plant in Utrillas, Teruel, Aragon, Spain is participating in the EU-funded FlexIndustries project to test industrial-scale solutions for decarbonisation, energy flexibility, and smarter resource use. The plant produces speciality fertiliser products and is testing processes such as monopotassium phosphate production with improved heat recovery and acid hydrolysis for biostimulants. It uses renewable energy sources including biomass and solar power with a 400 kW solar system and battery storage to optimize energy use and reduce natural gas consumption. |
