Founded in 1959, Festival dei Popoli - International Documentary Film Festival - takes place in Florence every year. This year it will be the 64th edition (Nov. 4-12, 2023). FdP is an appointment of national and international importance: - For the presentation - in World, International and Italian Premiere - of new documentaries (the Official Selection); - For the diffusion of the knowledge of the history of the documentary (the retrospectives sections); - For the contribution to the reflection on the evolution of cinematographic language (Q&A, masterclasses, meetings with the authors, essays and interviews in the catalogue); - For the realization of market-oriented initiatives (the Doc at Work - Industry); - For the valorization of young authors (the Doc at Work - Future Campus); - For the enhancement of film literacy among the youngest (the Popoli for Kids and Teens section). GENERAL OBJECTIVES: The Festival dei Popoli aims to promote: a) Intercultural dialogue between different countries; b) Intergenerational dialogue between emerging authors and experienced professionals; c) European creative documentary industry; d) Film literacy among the youngest audience through a specific selection of films, workshops and activities. e) New formats and contents that involve and strengthen the Digital Community around the festival; f) Gender equality, giving space to young women professionals in the field. g) Green environment, creating an eco-sustainable environment during the Festival and raising awareness of environmental issues through a special film and talk programme (Habitat). EXPECTED RESULTS: a) To reach and engage new audiences, particularly young audiences, through film education and the use of digital platforms; b) To contribute to the diffusion of creative documentary cinema; c) To develop new strategies to increase the visibility of the festival; d) To stimulate awareness and debate around key topics for European identity; e) To create a Green and sustain
