Description
Description | Festival Sustainability Lab: Resilience, Regeneration, Innovation (FSL) is a 1,5 year project that aims to lay the ground to enable and strengthen the collaboration around sustainability, resilience and innovation between European organisations in the field of arts, music & culture festivals. Project activities include planning and preparation phase, launch of FSL online, hybrid launch event that will be combined with ADE Green, Online Sustainability Lab, project proposals and their implementation, ongoing knowledge dissemination work, evaluation, finalising the project, presenting project results together with FLS alumni and initiation of FSL 2.0. The main project activity - Online Sustainability Lab - will consist of the three following tracks: sustainable festival and cultural event production, building resilience through art and culture and bringing new innovations to the ecosystem. At the end of each track FSL participants submit project proposals among which project partners choose 1-2 of winners to guide them through the proposal implementation process. The project aims to engage three main target groups: organisers and producers of festivals and cultural events, artists and content curators of festivals and cultural events and Impact start-ups working with solving sustainability problems. The activities take place online with the exception of three physical meetings: at the start and at the end of the project plus hybrid project kick-off event. The main positive impacts of the project is that it (1) provides practical and holistic knowledge on what sustainable event production is that will be easily accessible for everyone interested in Europe and in the world; (2) fosters the use of art, particularly during festivals as a platform for transformative change, resilience and ecosystem restoration; (3) sources and empowers startups who have solutions to make the festival and cultural industry more sustainable. |
