"The Festivals Animation Network (acronym: FAN) is a network of five European animation festivals from countries in Southern Europe, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean shores, under the motto ""To Watch, To Expand"" an important conceptual topic throughout its activity. FAN is based on a collaborative decision-making model, aimed at creating and diversyfying new audiences, building complementarities, exchanging best practices and experiences among its members and contribute dynamically to the dissemination of European cinematography throughout the world. To achieve this goal, it promotes the circulation and dissemination of author cinema from the five European countries constituting the network and the other Associated Partners (in Europe, Asia, America and Australia) , the analysis and reflection on the animation production of the five countries in the Consortium, and the diversification and growth of their audiences. To reach the main goal of this network - the creation and diversification of audiences - the Coordnator and Partner Festivals will implement the following activities, that, overall, will reach a universe of around 500 000 individuals: implementation of a Film Program Tour that will be shown in the 12 Festivals (Partners and Associated Festivals), the creation of “FAN. European Young Talent Award”, a Symposium ""Perspectives on European Animation"", a Film Education Program - FRAME, an Animation Trainers Meeting and the online platform, FAN.HUB and two apps. All narratives and practices of FAN follow principles described in two important documents: FAN.Green Commitment and the FAN.4ALL Commitment. CINANIMA - International Animated Film Festival of Espinho, takes the role of this network's coordinator making use of its 48 years of experience in the development of long-term partnerships with other European and non-European festivals and the wide knowledge that has acquired througout the years."
