Description | The Festus City Council approved an ordinance to build a $6 billion data center on roughly 360 acres north of Highway 67 in Missouri. The project is developed by CRG, the data center arm of developer Clayco. The ordinance requires the developer to pay for infrastructure upgrades to water, sewers, and streets if the data center is built. Despite significant opposition from residents, the council voted 6-2 in favor of the project. City Attorney Brian Malone highlighted potential tax revenue benefits, estimating $80 million annually for Festus even with a five-year tax abatement. |
