Description
Description | In the present project we declare certified admissions of European non-national films, that comply with the criteria of EACEA/European Film Distribution scheme, distributed by Film Europe s. r. o. in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 in Slovakia. The generated fund will be reinvested in the acquisition, promotion and national distribution of 12 high-end European non-national film titles. The main goal of the project is to provide the Slovak audience with an overview of new tendencies at the most prestigious European festivals, as well as with an overview of national cinematography of EU countries which, incidentally, is a long-term mission of our company. We choose systematically films (of different genres) that standard mainstream distribution doesn’t offer in our country. We focus systematically on acquiring and distributing top-notch films from among the works that have appeared in the main competitions of three most prestigious European festivals in Berlin, Venice and Cannes. A selection of films from their subsidiary competition and non-competition sections serves as the secondary source. We will complement these prospective acquisitions with other cinematic works that, as we believe, deserve special attention. Generally speaking, our main objective in implementing this project is to increase the awareness of what is currently happening on the European film scene and in turn to spur a debate. Also, by organizing a wide range of attractive accompanying events in view to support this mission, we work systematically on attracting new audiences (with a special focus on young people). For implementing this project, we will apply our well-established acquisitions and distribution strategies (detailed in the Technical description of the project). The overall project will be executed with particular emphasis on quality, transparency and cost effectiveness. |
