The objective of the The objective of the present application is to complete the financing to cover the development needs of the audiovisual works included in the mini-slate in order to succeed in the development and be able to take the projects to the production stage. The number of people involved in the development of the audiovisual projects included in the mini-slate is around 30 and include the creative team (Directors, Screenwriters, DoPs, Production Designers, Script Editors, etc.) and the production team, as well as other external services as casting agencies, location managers, etc. The present mini-slate consists of two projects and Film Kolektiv (Czech Republic) is the main producer in all of them: 1) THEORY OF STRANGENESS: Fiction Feature Film. The film is based in the bestselling book of the same title written by Czech writer Pavla Horakova. The film showcases the journey of a scientist woman who, from being largely subject to certain conventional social pressures, gives birth to a free being who decides to leave the current system in which she works and set out on her own free path. Because of the originality of the character and the visuals, the film will be a different point of view of current and relevant topic, such as women’s empowerment. The screenplay of the film has been developed under the Midpoint program and it is a confirmed co-production with Slovakia. 2) PRAGUE ASTRONOMER: TV series. The project is an original six-episode crime detective drama that tells the story of Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe who has been living in Prague until now since he discovered the elixir of life in the Prague of Rudolph II, in the XVIth century, and is now forced to solve some murder cases in present time Prague. The series is going to be directed by prestigious Slovak director Peter Bebjak. The project is set up as a three country co-production between Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. Co-producers from Slovakia and Germany are already on board.
