Description

Description

We are applying for MEDIA funding to support our investment in minimum guarantees for new European films with a copyright year of 2024. The specific titles have not yet been selected. In addition, 25% of the requested funding will be dedicated to marketing efforts. These will include organizing market screenings at Berlinale and Cannes, as well as producing promotional posters. These materials will be prominently displayed at our market booths to ensure the films are presented to our clients in a professional and impactful setting. We believe we are once again in a strong position to enhance our European line-up, as we have done in previous years. Much of the recent success of our non-European slate has been driven by English-language titles or films with timely, globally relevant themes—particularly from African and Asian producers. With the support of MEDIA funding, we aim to bring powerful, cinema-driven European stories to the forefront. We also plan to engage publicists for the Sundance Film Festival, and, depending on festival selections, potentially for Berlinale and Cannes as well. IDFA remains one of our most critical festivals and markets for documentaries, alongside Berlin and Cannes. We expect to allocate a portion of the marketing budget to IDFA, where we focus on reaching international buyers. Our marketing strategy there includes poster displays and investment in a screening room, allowing buyers to view films in the festival setting and connect with us directly. Additionally, part of the funding will be used to create high-quality marketing materials for newly acquired films—including posters, trailers, translations, and social media content—in close collaboration with the respective producers. This coordinated approach is essential to ensure a strong market launch, as our experience shows these tools are key to attracting buyer and press interest.
