Description

Description

Cluj-based Filmtett Association was founded by a small cinephile team in 2005 with a mission to support the Hungarian-speaking film critics website, filmtett.ro and to organize film-related events like film festivals and workshops. We started film distribution in 2016, offering a selection of high quality European (mostly Hungarian) films for the Romanian public. Our films address diverse audiences, including people of all ages and socio-economic classes. We would like to provide diversified content: our portfolio extends from children's films to social dramas and genre films. In 2024, we premiered 8 Western and Central European films, attracting more than 16.000 spectators. Several of our films have received significant critical acclaim. Jonas Trueba's The Other Way Around/ Volveréis has received the Europa Cinemas Label as best European film in Cannes Directors' Fortnight. Another film from our portfolio, Ádám Breier’s All About the Levkoviches received the FIPRESCI Award at the Sofia International Film Festival. Kalman’s Day directed by Szabolcs Hajdu won numerous critics award by the Association of Hungarian Film Artists: the film took the Best Screenplay (Szabolcs Hajdu), Best Actress (Orsolya Tóth) and Best Male Actor (Imre Gelányi) awards, and even the Film Critics' László B. Nagy Award for the best film of 2024. In the next two years, with the release of notable arthouse movies, we expect to keep and grow our audience by releasing at least seven-eight European feature films each year. In order to increase our performance, we plan to introduce new digital and social media marketing tools and improve our promotional effectiveness.
