Description
Description | The FLIP project is an innovative initiative aimed at democratic and civic engagement thanks to the development of a toolkit of essential skills in financial literacy, management, and communication among young people and youth organizations through hands-on methods, particularly utilizing Participatory Budgeting. This project features a blended learning approach, encompassing on-site and online training for young participants, including those facing fewer opportunities, who aspire to make a positive impact on their local communities. Through collaborative engagement with peers from various backgrounds, participants will delve into topics such as Financial Literacy, Participatory Budget methodology, and Democracy simulation through gaming. This initial phase lays the foundation for the second year, focusing on local implementation where young individuals actively drive their civic engagement, from expressing ideas to project design, voting, and realizing community-chosen initiatives. The project also incorporates a research component on the significance of financial literacy in young citizens, establishing a connection between public bodies and youth throughout the entire project. The creation of local disseminating events and an E-platform for educational diffusion enhances outreach and communication. FLIP's overarching goal is to boost youth participation in democratic processes, fostering financial literacy, and instilling a sense of empowerment through Participatory Budget methodologies, creating a pathway for democracy application in their communities, ranging from schools to municipalities and national levels. |
