The financial sector programme supports the expansion of sustainable lending with the aim of improving the housing situation of private households with low to medium incomes. The project also strengthens the national financial system. In addition to providing refinancing funds to expand lending by banks and microfinance institutions, the FC also provides funds for an accompanying measure. The private financial institutions are supported by a consultant in developing target group-oriented loan offers and in granting loans to private households efficiently and profitably. For this purpose, the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) was provided with a grant of EUR 7 million for refinancing qualified financial institutions (FIs) and a grant of EUR 1.0 million for an accompanying measure for Phase I of the project.
