This project will strengthen the institutional capacity of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that provide training and labor market services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The three components are: (a) program design and selection of partners to facilitate the expansion and improvement of training services available to NGOs through systematization of a regional training program;(b) training of trainers in the new curricula and methodologies to develop core staff in each partner institution to achieve a multiplier effect of the training programs; and (c) pilot-training implementation and monitoring designed to test and consolidate a regional-based model for delivering and expanding training to NGOs. Component 1 in its first activity provides for: (a) the selection of potential partner organizations in six countries (Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Uruguay), based on certain criteria; (b) development of methodology to evaluate the training proposals submitted by the potential partners; and (c) selection of six partners. The second activity finalizes the comprehensive regional bibliography of training programs and materials in the field of NGO financial sustainability that was initiated as part of the project design, and selects the training modules. Component 2 offers instruction in training materials and delivery through a pilot workshop for partner NGOs that will each send two trainers to be trained. Component 3 implements and monitors the training modules in six countries to 90 NGO participants per country.
