Finch West Light Rail Transit PPP project in Toronto

The project involves the introduction of Alstom’s Citadis light rail vehicles into regular passenger service on Toronto’s Finch West Light Rapid Transit (LRT) line, delivering a new, fully electric transit corridor in northwest Toronto, Canada.The Finch West LRT is an 11-km light rail transit line that will run along the surface of Finch Avenue from the new Finch West Subway Station on the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension at Keele Street to Humber College. The projected ridership of the Finch West LRT corridor is 2,800 passengers per hour in the peak direction by 2031. The capacity of an LRT is 15,000 passengers per hour per direction. The Finch West LRT will have 18 stops through northwest Toronto. The preferred bidder will design, build, finance and maintain the new rail infrastructure for a 30-year concession period.
