This project aims to support Finland's goal of carbon neutrality by 2030 by transforming the city's district heating system from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. The heat pump uses carbon dioxide as a refrigerant, delivers heat at temperatures up to 90°C, and features an oil-free compressor for enhanced efficiency and low maintenance costs. It is expected to produce around 200 GWh of heat annually, reducing Helsinki's carbon emissions by approximately 26,000 tonnes per year. |
