First Ammonia Green Hydrogen Project

First Ammonia plans to take a final investment decision (FID) on its green hydrogen project at the Port of Victoria in Texas this summer and begin construction this year. The project was initially designed around solid-oxide electrolysers but may switch to pressurised alkaline or proton exchange membrane (PEM) equipment. The first phase will feature 200MW of electrolyser capacity for the 300MW project. The project has faced delays due to uncertainty around US green hydrogen policy but is now moving forward with late-stage talks with lenders and finalising third-party reports.
