The facility will process cobalt used in electric vehicle batteries, defense systems, and other advanced technologies. Early site work is underway, and construction is expected to begin next year. Most of the cobalt metal and cobalt sulfate produced will be supplied to Japanese conglomerate Mitsui under a long-term offtake agreement valued at about $850 million over five years. |
