Description

Description

The development objective of the First Green and Climate Resilient Development Credit for Bangladesh is to support the Government of Bangladesh to transition to green and climate resilient development by: (i) enhancing public planning, financing, and delivery of green and climate resilient interventions; and (ii) promoting key sector reforms for greener and more efficient production and services. Framed around two pillars, the development policy credit (DPC) series supports structural reforms to: (i) enhance public planning, financing, and delivery of green and climate resilient (GCR) interventions; and (ii) promote key sector reforms for greener and more efficient production and services. This DPC series complements the parallel recovery and resilience DPC series, which has supported reforms to sustain growth in the post COVID-19 recovery and enhance resilience to future shocks. The reform program supported under this DPC series operationalizes key policy recommendations from the recently completed country climate and development report (CCDR), and promotes the World Bank Group’s green, resilient, and inclusive development (GRID) approach in Bangladesh.
