First Green and Resilient Georgia Development Policy Operation

The development objective of the First Green and Resilient Georgia Development Policy Operation (DPO) for Georgia is to support Georgia in greening economic activity, mitigating fiscal risks, and building the institutional capacity for better access to land, water, and financial services. The DPO series is structured around three pillars, with resilience running as a common theme. Pillar 1 aims at greening economic activity and supports Georgia in achieving the mitigation and adaptation goals under Georgia’s 2030 climate change strategy and 2021‐2023 action plan. Pillar 2 focuses on boosting resilience by mitigating fiscal risks (from disasters and SOEs). Pillar 3 aims at building the institutional capacity for better access to land, water, and financial services, which is expected to lead to an improved allocation and use of resources, thus contributing to improving resilience as well.
