Description | FirstEnergy Corp., through its subsidiaries Mon Power and Potomac Edison, has completed a utility-scale solar site in the Marlowe area of Berkeley County, West Virginia. The 36-acre facility has over 17,000 solar panels generating up to 5.75 megawatts of renewable energy. This is the third solar site in the state, contributing to a total of 30 megawatts of solar capacity across three sites. The project uses a former ash landfill and employed 54 local union workers with U.S.-made components. The company plans to develop two more projects to reach 50 megawatts of solar generation capacity. |
