Description

The objective of the Fiscal Risk Management Development Policy Loan Project for Mexico is to support Mexico's fiscal risk management policies so as to foster the efficient and effective implementation of public sector expenditure programs. This will be achieved by (i) supporting Mexico's integrated risk management approach, (ii) promoting the institutionalization of risk mitigation policies, and, (iii) highlighting critical elements of Mexico's risk management framework. The operation contains three policy areas. (1) Budget stability and transparency will improve fiscal and public debt management practices and enhance budget stability and transparency; (2) Natural disaster risk management will improve the Government's ability to respond to natural disasters and mitigate the impact of natural disaster costs on the budget; and (3) Subnational debt management will enhance fiscal and debt sustainability of state and municipal governments.
