Five arthouse feature films and a short film with sensitising themes and in the name of empathy.

Our studio's priority is to sensitize, to raise important issues that make the viewer empathize. We prefer taboo subjects, unspoken issues, life situations. For example, the fate of certain minorities, such as the Roma or other marginalised people living a different way of life, about whom we know very little or are misinformed. In many cases, our aim is to raise awareness or even generate a dialogue. But often our films just resonate with certain themes and events. We think it's important to calm the passions that politics stirs up on certain issues and to paint a more complex, nuanced picture of the subject. We also think it is important to mention that, whatever the frontier situation or difficult subject, we always offer the possibility of positive change. This is the hope that binds our films together. We work as a workshop with our collaborators, writers, dramaturgs, directors and creative producers to develop film projects. We meet regularly to analyse the content and dramaturgy of our projects, develop and help each other with writing and storytelling. The five arthouse feature film projects and the one short film project included in the competition were selected together after much deliberation. Each film project is unique, raises topical and often burning issues and faithfully reflects the spirit of IMM. These film projects are bound together by empathy and women's perspectives. Almost all of the projects feature women as protagonists, through whom the story is told or through whom the events take place. These female heroes are not victims at all, but consciously shaping their own destinies.
