Description

Description

The aim of the project Eunecbas is to show the artistic homogenity and belonging together of the European music. For example it is remarkable that the Finnish composer Einar Englund was borned in Gotland. Now the Finnish and Estonian young musicians will perform his IV Symphony in his place of birth and introduce his music in Latvia and Estonia. Understanding the music culture of the Baltic Sea countries and Europe will help to understand the unity of the European Union and mutually beneficial form of living together. The main emphasis of the project is on the music of Ludwig van Beethoven. The influence of his music is very well sensible in the music of the Baltic Sea region. There will be emphasized new aspects of the music of Beethoven. His music will be arranged for string orchestras, there will be also performed his Piano Concert no 0 that he began composing when he was 14, but he did not finish it. Several composers have finished it, but in all those versions there has been used the symphony orchestra. During the project there will be composed a new ending to it for the string orchestra. Another emphasis is on the music of Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki. He has been one of the most remarkable music renovaters in Europe in 1960's. His avant-gardism created a base to new music tendencies. His music pieces often express the suffering of the mankind caused by dictatorships and wars. Many of his music pieces have this far not been performed in the Baltic Sea countries, but his music has a strong influence on the music of Estonia and Latvia. The third emphasis of the project is on the Estonian and Latvian music. There will be performed the music of Estonian composers whose music has been forgotten for many years or who did not have a possibilty to perform their music on ideological or political reasons. There will be also introduced very interesting Latvian music that is this far not well known in other countries. The pedagogical emphasis of the project is on the young musicians from Finland. The project generally wants to help the Baltic Sea region music and culture to integrate to the EU and to help to understand it better and also to exchange the experiences of teaching the young musicians.
